Boston College, a Catholic college, reached a merchandising deal with Victoria's Secret, purveyor of fine undergarments. Needless to say, some alumni are not happy. With one alumni calling it "disgraceful and appalling," the schools seems to avoided put there name on underwear. For now, BC is featured on a hot-pink tank tops and 'short-shorts.' About 30 other schools have similar agreements with Victoria's Secret. Only time separates the inevitable partnership of colleges and Dress Barn.

US News reports that Arizona State University is cutting 200 faculty positions due to budget cuts. Nearly all of these positions are part-time, non-tenured lecturers or teachers. However, since the 51,000 student Tempe campus relies heavily on these teachers, class sizes are expected to increase dramatically. A chemistry class with 300 people could soon turn into one with 1,000 people. Arizona State may be a cheap alternative from other schools, but it comes at the expense of sacrificing smaller classes for being a number

While the McCain/Palin campaign hasn't gotten back to us yet, we just got word the Republican Party spent $150,000 on Sarah Palin's wardrobe from places like Saks 5th Avenue and Neiman Marcus. Let's see how far $150,000 can go in the college world:

  • Pays 75 percent of all costs at Harvard (could pay all costs if you receive grants)
  • Full-rides for 3 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (In-State)
  • Full-rides for 12 at Harper Community College in Palatine, Illinois
But, hey, a dress is way more important than an education, right?
