It appears that the Ivy League is not immune to the spending and hiring freezes of other schools. Both Cornell and Brown University have announced that they will freeze hiring non-faculty position for a few months. Cornell has also enacted a new construction freeze for 90 days until they can secure funds to continue. Both will see a large drop in their endowment due to the ailing economy.
